Year 11 Leavers’ Assembly 2026

Liz Chadwick 1 min read

On Thursday 18 June, we welcomed our Year 11 students into school for their Leavers’ Assembly — a special occasion marking the end of their time at Wales High School and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Students arrived through a dedicated entrance before spending time together signing shirts, collecting yearbooks and receiving their prom tickets. It was a chance to reflect, celebrate and create lasting memories with friends and staff.

The assembly itself included speeches from the pastoral team, recognising the achievements, resilience and contributions of the Year 11 cohort throughout their time at school.

Students were also treated to a fantastic musical performance from Julia Kosciukiewicz and Mikey Shaw, before enjoying a trip down memory lane featuring photographs and memories from across the years.

The event concluded with one of the most anticipated moments of the afternoon — the Year 11 tutor video — bringing plenty of laughter and a few emotional moments as students celebrated their final days together.

Thank you to all staff who helped make the event so memorable, and to our Year 11 students for everything they have contributed to the school community.

We wish you every success in your exams and look forward to celebrating with you again at Prom.
