A Day in the Life
As a student at Wales High School Sixth Form, we expect you to fulfil your role as one of the leading students at Wales High School and to help you realise your full
potential.
- You must arrive on site by 8.25 am promptly via the Sixth Form Entrance.
- On arrival you will sign in and attend your tutor group by 8.30 am.
- You will be expected to have the correct equipment you will need for lessons, including textbooks, folders and stationery.
- We operate as a no-mobile phone school, however, phones can be used in the the study room and common room/ cafe spaces.
- We expect all students to maintain an excellent attendance record (96.5% minimum) and be punctual to all timetabled lessons,
tutor group and briefings. - Your behaviour will be exemplary and you will be a ‘role model’ to younger students.
- Respect members of staff, other students, visitors and the wider community.
- Study to the best of my ability and always take pride in your work.
- Submit all work, assessments and coursework on time and to the best of your ability.
- Independent study – you will be expected to take responsibility for your learning, including using study periods effectively.
- We will expect you to take opportunities available to you to expand my personal portfolio e.g. RAG Challenge, work experience, mentoring,
mental health ambassador.
Uniform
Wales High School has always set a high standard in its dress code. The Sixth Form is no exception to this and we expect all studentsto maintain this practice through their own high standard of appearance.
Business-style dress is expected at all times.
- Black, grey or blue business style suit with optional waistcoat.
- Black, grey or blue business style tailored blazer.
- Black, grey or blue skirt of a suitable length or black, grey or blue tailored
trousers (no denim or trousers that resemble jeans or leggings). - Black, grey or blue business style dress. White, blue or black blouse or collared shirt (no sports shirts). No items should be off the shoulder or cropped.
- Black, grey, blue, plain fine knit jumper under blazer. (No chunky cardigans, or hoodies or sweatshirts)
- Black and white patterned (check, polka dot or striped only) trousers, skirts and blazers.
- All items of clothing should be without logos.
- Sheer fabrics are not acceptable.
- Sixth Form tie (if wearing a suit).
- Smart shoes or boots (no high or stiletto heels, trainers, pumps, casual shoes or work boots including chunky boots).
- Moderate, discreet jewellery and make up are allowed, as are badges of responsibility.
- All students must wear a tailored blazer with their uniform, whether that be part of a suit, a skirt, trousers or dress.
