New Millennium Block Living Wall

Liz Chadwick 1 min read

The Greener Wales Team has successfully secured £5,000 through the National Education Nature Park programme to help make our school site greener, more sustainable and more welcoming for wildlife.

Installed on the wall of the Millennium Block, the living wall offers a wide range of environmental benefits:

  • Contributes to a greener built environment
  • Improves air quality
  • Supports biodiversity and contributes to biodiversity net gain
  • Enhances the appearance and value of buildings
  • Helps reduce noise and improve insulation
  • Captures rainwater and supports sustainable drainage
  • Provides an immediate green impact and attractive aesthetic

A huge thank you to Tom from Fields Flowers and Pete from Needham Nurseries for bringing the project to life.

This is just the beginning! The Greener Wales Team has exciting plans to make the Millennium Block even greener in the future, with further projects aimed at enhancing biodiversity, creating new habitats and improving the environment for both wildlife and our school community.
