GCSE Results Day – Important Information

Results day is nearly upon us. Here is some helpful information to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible!

Time and Date

You are invited to come to school at 9.00 am on Thursday 22 August to collect your examination results from the Grand Hall.

Collecting your Results

On arrival at school, access will be via the Grand Hall from the external doors at the rear (between the Grand Hall and the New Hall) – this will be clearly signposted, and students will collect their results in a personalised envelope from a desk in the Grand Hall.

If you would prefer to receive a copy of your results electronically via your school email, because you cannot collect them in person, then you need to email the exams team ([email protected]) to ask for this to be emailed to you. This will be done after 10:30 am on Results Day.

Alternatively, if you wish someone else to collect results on your behalf on this day, you will need to provide a letter to this effect with the name of the person collecting the results to the examinations office beforehand or that person can arrive on the day with a letter authorising them to pick up the results on behalf of you – this letter must be signed by you.

We cannot give results via a telephone conversation.

Sixth Form at Wales High School

If your intention is to stay on and study in the Sixth Form at Wales High School, you will be interviewed for the Sixth Form once you have received your results.

You will be emailed a 10-minute appointment slot with a member of the Sixth-Form team from 10:00 am onwards on Results Day or the following day, Friday 23 August.

If you require a further appointment, then this can be made for a later date.

When you arrive for your interview, please sign in at the main reception, proceed up the main stairway and enter the Sixth form Common room. You will be met there and collected for your appointment.

Start of Year 12

Your start for Year 12 is Tuesday, 3 September at 8.25 am, so, therefore, it is essential that these appointments take place to confirm your place and course choice.

We appreciate there is a lot of information. If there are any questions about this process, then please do not hesitate to make contact via [email protected].

Any updates that may occur, will be advertised via the school website.

Yours sincerely Mrs N Lockyer Director of Sixth Form
