Thousands of Pounds Have Been Raised to Support Mental Health and Wellbeing at Wales High School

Students and staff have raised almost £4,000 in sponsorship for a 10-mile walk that took place on Friday 7th October.

A generous donation was also received from Wales Parish Council.

The 10-mile circular route started at Wales High School. From there students and staff walked towards Waleswood and around Rother Valley Country Park before heading back to the school.

Pepe Di‘lasio, Headteacher, said: “The sponsorship and donations raised for the Sponsored Walk is a real testament to the generosity of our community and the responsibility and empathy of our students.  I am incredibly proud of the way our students engaged with the Sponsored Walk tradition and hope this experience was not only rewarding but has also created valuable memories and bonds that last a lifetime!

Fantastic Community Feedback

“What a fantastic cause you have done it for too, not only highlighting the importance of mental health but contributing to the community”.

“Travellers Taxis based at kiveton saw the students and praised how well behaved they were, I had a taxi today and they told me, also my online grocery shop was delivered to me today and the driver noticed the students on the walk and said how well they conducted themselves”.

“Great to see the students of Wales High School out of my office window this morning, even if there were 2 t-Rex with them!”
