We are delighted to share photos of our finished lion cub and announce our final fundraising total of £1,007, which will go directly to Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS and Charity.

Nova was proudly designed and painted by Eliza W-C and Finlay P (Y7), with additional design contributions from Isabelle J, Archie C and Lily-Ann O (Y7), Anna E and Maisie W (Y8), and Amelia B, Maci S and Annabel C (Y10).
Our cub celebrates the things we are proud of at Wales High School, including our House system, which is woven into our school’s history, our enrichment programme, and our incredible international school connections represented through flowers. The flowers featured are the national flowers of each of our partnered countries: the English Rose, Romanian Peony, Tanzanian Clove and Paraguayan Passionflower.

The name ‘Nova’, meaning ‘new’ in Latin, was chosen by our students and reflects our exciting new school building and the beginning of our next era as a school and community.
Nova will be on display as part of the The Pride of Yorkshire Sculpture Trail at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre from 8 June – 8 September.

Hidden within the design is the initial and motif of each school house… can you find them all? Share your photos and tag us on social media!
