Have Your Say Through Wales Parent Voice

Liz Chadwick 2 min read

At Wales High School, we believe that the strongest schools are built through partnership. That’s why Wales Parent Voice provides families with a dedicated opportunity to work alongside school leaders, share ideas and help shape the future of our school.

Meeting four times a year, Wales Parent Voice brings together parents and carers for informal, one-hour sessions held in the Sixth Form Cafeteria. With tea, coffee and cake provided, the meetings offer a welcoming environment where families can discuss topics that matter most to them, celebrate what’s working well and suggest areas for improvement.

Wales Parent Voice is more than just a discussion group – it is a forum where feedback leads to action.

Recent examples of changes influenced by the group include:

  • Improvements to lunchtime provision following changes to the school day, ensuring students continue to access clubs, activities and quiet spaces.
  • The redesign of the Home Communication Log to make it clearer and easier for parents to use.
  • Earlier publication of the KS3 Enrichment Brochure, giving families more time to discuss and select activities together.

The impact of parent feedback can also be seen in our annual Progress Evening surveys, where the overwhelming majority of families report that their child is happy, safe and successful at Wales High School.

We are incredibly grateful to our Wales Parent Voice representatives, including Amy Smith and Holly Crosby, who generously give their time to support the school and represent the views of our wider parent community.

Whether you are new to Wales High School or have been part of our community for many years, your views matter. By joining Parent Voice, you can help ensure that the parent perspective continues to play a vital role in shaping the experience of every student.

Together, we can continue to make Wales High School the very best it can be.
