Tell us about where you are working/studying now and about your role/university course:

At university I studied a combined course of English literature and publishing with a digital and marketing focus my time at Bath Spa University saw an in-depth study into various forms of writing both for an academic business and customer-based audience. This course also applied complete industry base knowledge into both the publishing and marketing world allowing me to practice various project and work experience roles including editing assistant for the Irish studies review leader for the BBC Science Focused Digital Rebrand Project and lead project research of James Spackman Slush Pile research project,

Shortly after graduating I took on the role of a marketing executive at Meadowhall shopping centre where I manage all of the centres top platform and organic marketing as well as liaising with over 280 brands the room for creative freedom in my marketing role has been vast from which I’ve been able to try new things with the Central to push a fresh and fun voice online. So far in my role I have completed two large-scale events, including the famous Meadowhall student night and I’m currently in the midst of organising a third (announcement pending). My time at Meadowhall has been busy, to say the least however, I could not love my job more and I’m happy knowing I’ve found my dream career on the first try.

How did studying at Wales help prepare you for this?

My time Wales prepared me in many ways as someone with an enormous personality and loud presence Wales High School was able to enhance and streamline my chaos into different vocations whether it be acting, roles of leadership, or charity, my teachers pushed me into all activities and to achieve more.

Whilst I’ve been given tons of support at Wales both in teaching and providing great access to one-to-one assistance on personal matters the most important thing Wales gave me was discussion through my various extracurricular activities at Wales including the Zanzibar project or the Romanian student exchange. Wales gave me incredible talking points that gave me access to interviews of further opportunities after finishing sixth form.
