Tell us about where you are working/studying now and about your role/university course:
I studied Bioengineering at University of Sheffield. Maths was a requirement for entry, although at a B rather than A due to the course being restructured and needing re-accreditation. Mathematics modules largely revolved around differentials, integrals and matrices. I found it a similar level to A-Level, but faster paced. Pearls of wisdom: Take advantage of any help that is available. Both in school and at university there will be tutors who are willing to help. Life is so much easier if you truly understand something, rather than scraping by with good enough knowledge. Uni life is what you make of it – do as little or as much as you want – but do enough work to get the grades you need. Learn to fend for yourself, balance your work/social life. No one will chase you for work, or to go to lectures, but they may penalise you for not doing these things. You have to figure out what works for you. I graduated with a 2:1 MEng in 2016, and qualified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for the NHS.
