Governor Nick Parr

I am very pleased to stand as a Parent Governor at WHS and hope I can add valuable skills and experience to the Governing Board. I’m the Executive Director of virtus.sport – an international organisation that manages sport and competition for athletes with learning disabilities, Down syndrome and autism as part of Paralympic sport.

 

For more than 20 years I have worked to promote inclusion and equality and have a particular interest in ensuring the best possible support for children with SEND. The role also gives me a range of management skills and experience which I hope can be useful to the WHS Governing Body. In a voluntary capacity I have been a parent governor of Wales Primary School since 2017 and Chair of Governors since 2021. This has given me a fantastic insight into the education sector, the challenges faced (particularly post-covid), the roles and responsibilities of the governing body and for advocating for the best possible education and experience for all pupils.
