Miss Lisa McCall, Headteacher, said:

Following a morning of celebration, I feel immensely proud of the achievements of our Sixth Form students.  Our Y13s have demonstrated remarkable determination and commitment throughout their studies. We are delighted to see them rewarded for their efforts with 50% of the top grades being A* – B, enabling our students to secure places at top universities and access the best apprenticeship opportunities.

This year’s results are also a testament to the quality of education provided at Wales High School; highlighting the dedication and expertise of staff who continue to deliver first-class teaching.

Today is also a special moment for staff, students and families to collectively acknowledge and reflect on the tremendous effort that has been undertaken to reach this level of success.

As a school, we are exceptionally proud of how strong relationships with former students remain a key feature of ‘The Wales Way’. This year, as these students embark on the next chapter of their academic and professional journeys, we look forward to continuing to hear how they are thriving and living life to the full.

I wish them every success – they certainly deserve it!

Across the year group, there were some excellent performances in a range of subjects achieved by students.

Matthew A, is heading to Oxford University to study Politics, Philosophy and Ethics. Congratulations Matt!

Euan A, achieved 2 A* and 2 A grades.  A huge achievement that means Euan is now heading to St Andrews University to study Mathematics.

Alarnie S, achieved 3 A*. This is particularly special as Alarnie achieved all 9 grades at GCSE.  An impeccable record and a credit to Alarnie’s hardworking nature. Alarnie is heading to University of Sheffield to study Law with Spanish Law.

Luke P, achieved 2 A* and 1 A grades and has accepted a place at Durham University to study Mathematics.

Charlie K, achieved ABB. These fantastic grades have further secured him a degree apprenticeship at Experian to qualify in Software Engineering.
