The careers programme is designed to meet the needs of all students in Sixth Form and is linked to the National Careers Service and National Apprenticeship Schemes. It is differentiated and personalised to ensure progression through activities that are appropriate to students studying A-Level and Level 3 qualifications.
In addition to this, we host a large-scale careers fair, which continues to grow year after year with over 60 representatives from businesses and higher education establishments.
PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW EVENING
Students are also invited to attend our prestigious annual Professional Interview Evening. Over 30 professionals from all different career paths attend including engineers, doctors, vets, lawyers photographers and many more. Recreating a real life interview scenario, students are asked to dress appropriately with a prepared CV for a 30 minute interview with their chosen employer
WORK PLACEMENTS
At the end of Y12, all students are expected to complete a week in a professional environment relating to their career choice. All students are given advice by the Sixth Form Team on how to find and prepare for their placements.
Wales High School Sixth Form continues to foster great links with local and national businesses to ensure our students have access to professionals relevant to their studies and future career aspirations
