Miss Lisa McCall, Headteacher, said:
“I am thrilled by the exceptional achievements of our Year 11 students today. They have shown outstanding dedication to their studies, consistently prioritising their learning and maintaining impressive attendance throughout their time at Wales High School.
The level of grades achieved by this cohort reflects not only their academic ability, but also their determination and resilience. Remarkably, this year group missed out on the full Wales High School induction and transition programme from primary school due to COVID-19 restrictions – a programme we are incredibly proud of, as it helps lay the foundation for secondary success. Despite this, they have risen to the challenge and excelled.
There will no doubt be many proud parents and carers today, and plenty of well-deserved celebrations across our community”.
Deserving of special mention was Nicholas L who achieved seven of his GCSEs with the highest possible grade 9 score. Also achieving highly were Cameron P, Alice T and Sophia T who all secured a grade 8 or higher in every one of their subjects.
Other students achieving an abundance of top grades were Riley S and Andrey E who attained five grade 9s each.

Miss Lisa McCall, Headteacher added: “I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to our dedicated teaching staff and the entire school community. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in helping our students reach their full potential. Today’s results are a testament not only to our students’ hard work but also to the strong academic foundation and nurturing environment that Wales High School provide, one that encourages every student to thrive.
As our students take their next step, whether continuing their studies in the Wales High School Sixth Form or pursuing other exciting opportunities, I am confident they are well-prepared for the challenges and adventures ahead.
We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
