Students Reflect and Remember: A Schoolwide Remembrance Day Tribute
Today, the school community came together to mark Remembrance Day with respect and reflection. As students arrived, they were greeted by a thoughtful display in the Welcome Entrance, setting the tone for the day of remembrance.
At 11:00 a.m., the whole school observed the two minutes’ silence, taking time to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in conflicts past and present.
In preparation for Remembrance Day, students took part in a special Remembrance-themed RISE activity. Each year group was given a different wartime letter to read and respond to, allowing them to explore the personal stories and emotions of those who lived through the war. To deepen their understanding, each text was accompanied by three reflective questions, encouraging thoughtful and meaningful reflection.

During the session, tutors displayed the letters on the board, and students wrote their responses on lined paper. From the many thoughtful and well-written pieces produced, only a select few were chosen to be proudly displayed in our welcoming entrance this morning in honour of Remembrance Day. Prizes will be awarded to recognise the strongest responses in each year group.
We hope these activities not only helped students to understand the significance of Remembrance Day, but also gave them the opportunity to express gratitude, empathy, and reflection through their writing and values at the heart of our RISE sessions.
