Construction BTEC Level 3 Diploma is a two year course, which is equivalent in size to 2 A-Levels that consists of mandatory and optional units. Each unit contributes points proportionally to the overall grade allowing students to gain recognition in areas where they excel. Units are based on technical scenarios which will enhance the student’s knowledge and understanding of technical areas that are relevant to the changing need of the construction sector. Btec are the awarding body and there are two end of course exams involved. This is an assignment driven course consisting of 9 units of which 7 are mandatory and 2 are external.

UCAS points for University or a Higher Apprenticeship. Many previous students have successfully accessed construction roles in a variety of different fields.

Lessons will be taught by ‘industry standard’ qualified tutors, this helps students to focus on the strong emphasis of health and safety.  This course has an optional work placement element and students will be able to liaise with RICS Surveyors, Conveyance Solicitors, Financial Advisors and will learn to deal with the general public.  Completion of this course will leave students fully prepared for university or employment within the construction sector.

5 GCSEs 9 – 4 including English, Mathematics and Science. Applicants who do not meet these requirements will be considered on an individual basis.

6. Construction Principles (exam)
7. Construction Design (exam)
8. Building Regulations and Control in Construction
9. Plus 1 further Optional Unit

The Examination Board for this course is Edexcel.
Several units involve Calculus and Geometry so good Mathematics are recommended.
