Art & Photography at Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3 the students are provided with the foundation to build their knowledge and skills upon prior learning at Key Stage 2. Students begin by developing basic knowledge and skills focusing on colour theory, as well as painting, drawing and 3D modelling skills. Knowledge and skills are further enhanced via multiple disciplines, as students progress throughout Key Stage 3. Students’ practical outcomes are assessed in relation to the GCSE specification, to provide students with a clear vision on how to succeed at GCSE.
Students have the opportunity to experiment and explore a number of materials including paint, clay, mixed media, sewing and print-making to name a few. Students also have the opportunity to further develop their work digitally using Adobe Photoshop. We believe these skills will enable your child to not only succeed but to exceed their potential in a creative and exciting way. Students are able to attend after school enrichment to explore personal and creative expression or teacher led activities to build confidence, knowledge and skills beyond the classroom.
