On 22nd May, a group of Y7’s and 8’s went on a trip to Paris to learn about France and to visit some of the famous landmarks; it was one of the best holidays ever!
On Saturday, we went to the River Seine River Boat Cruise and saw lot of different landmarks. Afterwards we visit the Eiffel Tower (la Tour Eiffel) and went to the first floor –which made us look very tall. Then, we went to the Louvre (La Louvre) where we enjoyed doing a treasure hunt and also saw the ‘original’ Mona Lisa painting (Luke asked the guide if this was the real one!).
On Sunday we visited the Sacre Coeur then the Montmartre. It was really busy afterwards when we went to the shops where we tried some French food and bought presents for our families back home. We then went to the Montparnasse tower which towered way over the Eiffel tower. We visited the Stade de France which was great fun and the tour guide was really funny too.
On the way back we went on the ferry which was quite busy and then we got on our coach and went back home.

Last month the Wales High School Modern Foreign Languages department took a group of Y7’s to Y9’s to Paris. We went for four days travelling there on Friday and returning on Monday.
While we were in Paris, we enjoyed a Seine River Cruise where we saw a variety of landmarks along the way! We also had the opportunity to experience going up the Eiffel Tower – which gave us an amazing sight over Paris. Seeing the extremely famous original painting of the Mona Lisa was also a highlight of our short visit.
During Sunday, we visited a traditional French Market – where we enjoyed an alternative shopping experience. One of the best and exiting activities we did was going up a fifty-six story skyscraper known as Montparnasse Tower in a very fast lift as it only took a few seconds to reach the top!
Finally, we went to the Stade de France Stadium where we had the unique opportunity to see inside the rugby players changing rooms. I had a really great time in France and I’d like to thank the staff that made this brilliant trip happen.
