Key Stage 4 and 5
As a department we offer a range of courses in both Health and Social and Childcare at key stage 4 and 5. Within our courses we teach a range of topics relating to the caring sector, looking into the daily work of practitioners in the relevant fields. Within our department we aim to offer a range of activities both within and outside of the classroom. Many of our courses have elements of work experience where students will spend time in settings such as nurseries, primary schools, care homes or other relevant health settings. Where ever possible we are always trying to enhance learning and often attend events such as the NHS Careers Roadshows, Sheffield teaching hospital events and run partnership events with our local primary schools.
Every other year we also offer a residential visit to Disney Paris where students take part in lectures and seminars covering some of the key concepts which are taught within our courses such as equality and diversity.

Course Information
You should take this qualification if you want to progress further at learning Level 4 or above in a related field of study. Upon completion of this qualification you will be bale to access Higher Education and progress into a wide range of job roles within the Health and Social Care sector, such as:
- Care Support Workers in adult residential settings.
- Healthcare Assistants in community, primary care and acute health environments.
- Care support workers in domiciliary services, supported living or day services.
- Community-Based Support Workers.
- Sheffield Hallam University accept this qualification for entry onto their child nursing course.
- OCR Cambridge National Award Level 1/2 in Health and Social Care
- NCFE CACHE Level 2 Technical Award in Health and Social Care
