Two budding film-makers from Wales High School have scooped their third consecutive award at the ROSCARS.
Abigail Harris and Eleanor Smith, both aged 16, directed and starred in New Girl – a quirky comedy which impressed the judges at this years ‘Rotherham Oscars’. This follows wins in 2012 and 2013 for their films, War of Words and Drama Queens.
Students from the school brought home three awards in total at this year’s ceremony, at New York Stadium in Rotherham.
A-level Media Studies student Katy Hoggard won Best Year 13 Film for her short movie, Angel For Hire – a film noir based on the writing of detective novelist Raymond Chandler.
Whilst Wales High’s Film and Animation Club picked up another award for Positive Learning in the Classroom, a tongue-in-cheek guide on how to behave at school, which won Best Year 9 Film.
