This combined with a number of fantastic performances both for individuals and teams have meant Wales High School PE department are celebrating its most successful year.
Helping the staff, students and parents celebrate was boxing Olympian Natasha Jonas, who gave an extremely motivational speech during the evening.
At the heart of the department’s success are a wonderful and talented set of students from Year 7 to Year 13 and a dedicated team of staff from PE and other departments in school.
Many awards were presented to well deserving students these included: The Jim White Trophy for Cricket, to Levi Owen; Junior Sportsman and Sportswomen Award to, Elliot Barnard and Sophie Ibberston, The Sporting Endeavour Award, to Eve Rowles; Team of the Year Award, to the current Year 8 Boys football team; Senior Sportsman and Sportswoman Award to, Joe Cannings and Chloe Sansford; The Sports Person of the Year Award to, Luke Cotter; and the Headteachers Award to, Alex Hunter.
