Science at Key Stage 3
In year 7 and 8 all students at Wales follow a programme of study that is based on the national curriculum. Our lessons are designed to be practical based to make the learning both relevant and fun.
In Year 7 and 8 our courses are thematic and scaffold the scientific knowledge in such a way as to prepare students for Science beyond KS3 as well as fostering a love for science. Our students develop practical skills through taking part in various investigations as well as core practical work, which aim to enhance scientific understanding and provide a good foundation for required practical work both at KS4 and KS5.
Students are taught by highly qualified subject specialists and stay in sets throughout their journey from KS3 to the end of KS4. These sets are fluid and students will have the opportunity to move up and down at intervals during the school year which enables us to ensure that students are taught at a level that suits them and allows them to make progress.
