Personal Development

Education is not solely about outcomes. It is regarding the development of the ‘whole child’, their character and the preparedness of the child for their future in modern day Britain.

There is a complex connection between wide range of opportunities we have to offer at Wales High School alongside the range of supportive measure we offer that form under the umbrella of personal development.

PSHE, RSHE and citizenship are linked with each other and all other strands of personal development.  The wider opportunities the schools provide and a student’s participation in such activities or events, will inevitably link with our strong sense of British Values and indeed Careers Information Education and Guidance (CIEAG). As many of our school community know, we have always taken pride in our strong sense of social, moral, spiritual and cultural education (SMSC).  This facet of our curriculum adding even greater strength to the overall personal development programme. All of these elements form a complex, interdependent personal development programme. The effectiveness of this programme comes through its coherence and cohesion as a totality, with all elements supporting and reinforcing each other.
