Drawings and detailed sketches were made – many of which proved useful at a later stage. Secondly, the students researched the work of the artist they had been given by their teacher. These had been selected to appeal to individual students in terms of style and technical proficiency required.
The artists ranged from traditional masters to more contemporary names. A wide range of materials were used to develop their ideas. Wire, papier-mache, modroc, paint, fabric and collage came together to create individual responses.
All the students are pleased with their finished product and the range of hats currently provides a stimulating display in the schools reception area. |
