13.1 were the overall winners of the 2009 Rag Challenge. They were successful in a variety of Business & Enterprise initiatives including the Christmas Market and the Summer Fare.

For the Christmas market they organised a variety of events, including a guess the Father Christmas quiz. They also made and sold festively decorated buns and biscuits.

For the Summer Fair they ran a very successful barbeque stall and a soak the teacher event, where pupils paid a fee for splashing teachers with water either from wet sponges or buckets of water.

Instead of sharing out their group prize of £100, they decided to give the money to charity. The presentation to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance representative Mark Perry took place during the Year 13 leaver’s assembly on Friday 28th May. This donation will provide over 20 minutes of flying time for the Air Ambulance, which will help towards saving a persons life.
