Modern Foreign Languages at Key Stage 4
By the end of Key Stage 4, a successful GCSE candidate in MFL will be able to show understanding of a range of authentic and literary texts in target language, they will be able to pick out key and supporting details and infer information from spoken and written extracts and accurately translate short paragraphs out of and into English. They will be able to write at length about the 5 themes of GCSE study, creating descriptive texts of 90-150 words showcasing a broad range of tenses, structures and vocabulary; and take part in short role play and longer general conversation with a good level of fluency, accuracy and interaction.
