HEALTHY SCHOOLS
The Rotherham Healthy Schools Scheme was set up in 1999, as a partnership between Education and Health. The scheme is part of the National Healthy Schools Standard and has received national accreditation. Wales High School is taking an active part in the scheme, and has been awarded Healthy School status.

A Healthy School understands how important it is for people to be healthy in order to do their best. In this way, it helps raise levels of achievement.

A Healthy School knows how important it is to work in a nice, friendly, clean environment. Pupils cannot learn properly if they are uncomfortable in their surroundings.

A Healthy School is a school that helps all its members to do their best, and celebrates what they achieve. It provides information and allows people to develop the skills they need to make positive decisions about their health.
