The Physical Education Department at Wales High School is a very successful innovative department whose work is recognised on a local, regional and national level.

The school has extensive PE facilities. There are 2 sports Halls, a Gymnasium, fitness suite, 8 tennis courts, 5 netball courts, 2 fields accommodating 4 soccer pitches, 3 rugby pitches, 2 all weather cricket wickets and 2 hockey pitches. We also have a dedicated PE teaching room.

There are a wide variety of PE clubs and teams to which members of staff outside the PE department also contribute. On average there are 46 extra-curricular clubs a week.

There is an annual Sports Award Evening, Movement Evening and Sports Day.
